Yes more questions, I was hoping for some inpt on whether you guys beleive submitting your site on a monthly basis is a good or bad thing.

Do search engines now constitute this a spamming them? even if not, does submitting them regulary make any difference?

Do you only need to submit your site again if it has changed?

or do the search engines trawel their site DB on a regular basis so there is no need to keep submitting it?

Also if it is ok to submit monthly, are there any issues with creating an automated process for doing this?

Hi

Submitting a site with the Add URL form is anonymous, so anybody can do it. This is why it has no importance how many time you do it.

If you want to inform Google about the changes, use Google SiteMap.

Apart from it being a total waste of time and effort you mean.
There is never a need to submit to real search engines.

I understood if you change something on your site and want it cralwed/ re-indexed you submit it again. This is advice on the google webmasters system, are you saying that advice is BS and a waste of time?

Where does it say that?

Google remembers what is in its index and will recrawl the site at regular intervals.

I cant remember exactly - i beleive it was a link in the help center or on the groups forum.

I've been reading so much on this subject the last couple of weeks my heads in a spin and finding it hard to sort the wheat from the chaff!
