Your odd problem of the month here. ATX case with slotkey CELERON 333 (PGA370) started to show some kind of problem display wise. After warming up for 30 minutes or so the display monitor would get blurry to the point of being totally unreadable.
After checking for cable or connection problems I swapped the monitor (ACER 17e) with an older 15" (Magnavox). 30 minutes later I saw the same problem.
Since the machine was only 6 months old and we had a 3 year service contract on it I decided to call the local manufacturer only to find out that they had gone silently out of business.
So I decided to call a hip new ("Supergeeks") local company to fix the problem. A day later and $32 diagnosis poorer I'm told that the cheapo YAMAHA soundcard was faulty and after removal everything would be o.k.
Back at the office I encounter now bootup problems though. POST hangs intermittantly...A small tap on the case helps or makes it worse. I bring back the machine to the "geeks" who promise no more charges. Day later they call me that they can't find anything wrong, I should pick up machine.
In their repair shop I watch the machine doing just fine. Just for fun I tap it and.... no more fine. The next two hours they swap everything out and in but the MB and final diagnosis is motherboard is bad.
Indeed, after installing a new MB everything is good now BUT my two monitors are still screwed... After thirty minutes or earlier they turn fuzzy. Turning down brightness will improve focus but makes them rather useless anyway.

Question: Did the unknown problem somehow send destructive signals to the monitors to permanently damage them?
