Monitoring Tools

Hello

Im looking into what tools are avaialble to monitor the Passport 8600. We have been having a few issues and i want to start monitoring things like CPU load SMLT/MLT link usage, temp etc.

We have Optivity and HP openview but i would like any other suggestions (if there are any!!)

For example we have been using Concord eHealth for the past 5 years to keep us informed about our total network environment. Until now I think it still is the best tool I've seen/used giving the infomation you want in a professional reporting manner. You can use this tool to generate reports in all kinds off ways about the selected device from errors on a specific interface of a hub through the whole backplane utilization of a corerouter.
At least from release 5.5 their is a tool included called Live Health which give a real time view of the network. This solves the problem that you had to rerun reports to monitor a specific variable for an ammount of time. With Livehealth it is possible to set tresholds etc. introducing real time monitoring.

It sure is an expensive tool which could be a showstopper. It's advisible to collect some information on the web, also a demo is available so you can try this tool out.

I really enjoyed using Concord Communications Ehealth.
Unfortunately $247,000.00 was a bit steep for all the information.
Had to stay with Optivity,MRTG,What's up Gold,Solar Winds.
