Monitoring remote computer

Server: Windows 2000 server standard
Clients: Windows 2000 professional
SMS 2.0 SP4

I have 2 computers that are in a lab. We pay for these computers and also justify their existance based on useage.
I am looking for a way perhaps through SMS to monitor who is logging in and how long they use the computer.
Can anyone tell me if this is possible through SMS and then point me in the right direction to get started?

therefore you do not really need sms - turn on the auditing on the server and then you can see which user logs on when and you also see the logoff-process
