Does anybody use Nagios to monitor pervasive? If so are there any specialized plugins or do you just check to see if the respective services are running or not. I'd really like to be able to monitor load, open files, locks, etc. I monitor the machine with just the general windows agent for Nagios but wanting to know if there is anything special I can do with Nagios on Pervasive.

I've never heard of Nagios but a quick GOogle search explained what it was. I do not believe it can, out of the box, monitor Pervasive like you want. If you can develop a plug in, then you can use the DTI or DTO interface to get the Open files, Locks, etc from the Pervasive engine.

Thanks - I've not found a plugin for pervasive for Nagios. Guess I'll have to write one hwen I get some free time.

Sorry for coming in so late on this, but if you use the Nagios Agent for Windows servers (runs as a Windows service), you can monitor any Windows service you want. All you need to know is the service name.

For Pervasive.SQL, there are two services: transactional and relational. Just set those up in your Nagios config, and you're good to go.
