Hi,

I need a way of monitoring how full the "files" table in the kernel is.

I remember, from a while ago, that there was a way to check this in Dynix/PTX (Sequent's unix) but - I can't remember the command and I can't find anything for HPUX.

I'm using HPUX 10.20 on an HP9000 K220.

Any ideas anyone?
Try 'sar -t' - should give you info on various table sizes including processes, inodes, files, and locks.

HTH.

Oops - I think the typo pixies are after me today ;^) That should have been 'sar -v' - 'sar -t' will show some filesystem stats by filesystem type.

Sorry for the confusion :)

Thanks andy - i'll try it
Mike Lacey
Mike_Lacey@Cargill.Com
<a href= Cargill's Corporate Web Site
