What version? MOM 2005...Operations Manager 2007?
Where's your script? First thing you need to do is write a script that checks if file exists...VBScript or JScript. Come back when you have that, and let's take a look at writing the MOMAPI parts so you can submit that data properly for OpsMgr to use.

Actually I do this now with a Management pack.
Read the documentation closely, it can be tricky to get working but works well once you have.
