Hi,

We have a problem where by occasionally our leased line between 2 sites in the same city just completely maxes out. We have found the problem to be a couple of times users copying large folders across the line.

My question is this.... Is there any software or monitoring tool we can look at when our line maxes out and see exactly what data is going across the line, which pc it is generated from / going to etc?

Many thanks
John

When this happens you may be able to learn somehting by looking in your switch diagnostics. Heck, you may even be able to tell which port is the problem just by looking at the activity LEDS.

Another possibility is to use a sniffer on the WAN side of the router.

Google "Ethereal" for a nice shareware packet sniffer.

I hope this helps, I know it is not exactyl what you are looking for.

Good luck
