I am trying to create an hourly output file/jpeg/bmp/whatever of how much memeory store.exe is using, I want to create a snap shot of the memory usage but can't think of a way of doing it. Any ideas what-so-ever would be appreciated. I want to see the variations throughout the day without having to visit the server hourly and live here overnight.

I am sure it is store.exe that is killing the Exchange box after 9 days but can't prove it. I have tried limiting physical memory through perfwiz.exe but this seems to have failed. Any ideas of how to create snapshot appreciated and I'll buy a beer for the one with the winning solution ;)

Performance Optimizer.

Add Process - Then Virtual Bytes and on the right add store.exe

Then run. What is your issue? Store uses Dynamic Buffer Allocation to grab all memory and then release when other programs need it. There was a slight issue with perfwiz that it would set max buffers too high if you had a bunch of ram. Mostly over 1 gig.

Don't check to limit memory it won't solve your issue :)

What is the decimal value of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem\Max Buffers

Thanks for the advice the

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem\Max Buffers

is set to REG_DWORD: 0x2ee00

Unfortunately this means nothing to me and so any further advice as to what it is you are getting at would be appreciated.

Cheers

This is 192000 in Decimal.

Your fine there. Sometimes perfwiz would calculate this too high.

Go ahead and run the Performance Monitor.

Click Add (The +)
Performance Object - Process
Counter - Virtual Bytes
Instance - STORE

And let it run and see what store is doing. Dan
