Hello all.

I would like to collect your opinions on these two issues:

1 - What would be the best tool for Monitoring a server farm (Virtualized: 6 modules for 2 productions VIO servers (16 Lpars) and 2 modules for a VIO Development server (8 Lpars). The desired monitoring would be a "plasma view" thing, filesystems, CPU, Paging, Disks...the trivial.

2 - What would be the best system administrator graphical tool for administering that environment above? Any suggestions? Main activities involve user accounts, print queues, filesystem work, etc.

I have been playing with IBM Director 6.1 but found very difficult to cope with IBM's GUI point of view. Things are very confusing and the graphical views are so poor...

Thank you for your time over this.
Jeffo.

Have you tried Nagios?
It's easy to customize AIX specific modules, and plenty of modules for databases etc.
