Hi;
I'm looking for a software or a hardware to monitoring a firm's network, in order to have information concerning the flow, the security ... and the possibility to obtain schema and other think !!!!
Thanks
Moez

Are you looking to monitor at layer 2 or 3? Is multi-layer switching enabled along with NetFlow? There are several products to consider. You may consider using TrafficDirector and/or Real Time Monitor included in CiscoWorks 2000, Network Associates' SnifferPro, or NetFlow Collector and Data Analyzer. See the thread in this forum about "NetScount nGenius RTM..." for some thoughts regarding TrafficDirector and Real Time Monitor.

You have to remember, Cisco Works 2000 is a management software, not a monitoring software. Although, it does have features such as DFM that will tell you of issues in your network. Cisco Works 2000 is not a red light, green light monitoring tool like HP Openview. Just an FYI

According to IPkonfig Cw2000 is not a monitoring tool. can't you use CW2000 topology services and Syslog to monitor a Network in real time?

We are about to purchase this software so we can not only manage but MONITOR the Wan in our network.

Please advise.

Cisco have a product What's up gold which they use underneath Ciscoworks. This is a shareware snmp program that draws a pretty map and gives red and green icons. Gives some functionality but not as much as a full blown openview......(was originally snmpc)

Hope this helps

Page.....:)

Is there a trial version of HP Openview I could download??
