I have a dell laptop that is 15 inches, the resolution is 800 x 600 HOWEVER windows is not displayed in the whole screen(you see the desktop in a rectangle, and outside the rectangle it's all black).. i press fn+f4 and it gets how it is supposed( windows covers the black part, it's displayed in the whole screen)HOWEVER the image it's bad, lots of pixels, it's just not right...could someone help me to solve this?

Switch the resolution to 1024x768.

Alright - reinstall the video drivers

The may also be BIOS settings about the LCD controller that lead to your problem. Are there any options in the menus for the LCD display?
