Hello,

We have a 2948G-L3, and we are experiencing performace issues with FTP, and it seems to be a 'one way' issue. When we ftp FROM a server at our colo hosting to our office, its dog-slow, but when we ftp from our office to the server at the colo, we increase speed almost 100 K......Is there any way to 'sniff' the traffic on the 2948? can you put a port in promiscious mode and some how sniff the traffic on the entire switch to possibly see where the issue is? at this point, we think its either an issue with cabling or possibly network cards.

thanks in advance.

If your switch supports command "monitor session" in global config mode, then you can configure SPAN (Switched Port ANalyzer) a sniff any traffic going through your switch.
