Good Afternoon,

I've somehow managed to screw up my monitor settings.

In properties, I have two monitors to choose the settings for. Why? I don't know. But it's always been like this, and always been fine. Well, I decided to check it out last night. I changed both monitors too 1024x768, normally only my primary (1) monitor is, and the secondary is set too 800x600. Well, as I say, I changed them both to 1024, and my screen is now a completely weird size. It looks as though the main screen area is 1024x768, and the start bar is 800x600.

I will take a screenshot to explain clearer.

I tried the obvious of changing the secondary (2) back to 800x600, but this didn't change anything. I really need my monitor to be at 1024x768, as I use this setting for all websites me and my company produce at work.

As you can see in the above image I have highlighted the check-box I clicked last night to duplicate the monitors together, but again, this is no longer checked. So I do not understand why it doesn't return to primary state.

If this is posted in the wrong forum, please can you locate me somewhere else.

Thanks for your time.

Sam.

Ps - I use Windows XP Pro. Not sure of drivers? Just the original ones from Windows installation disk..

Your screen shot is not accessible. You could try the system restore function to roll the system back to before you did the change. (start=>programs=>accesories=>system tools=>system restore.

You could also uninstall the monitor, and let windows reinstall it.

or, you could download the latest drivers from the mfgr and install those.
