I have a number of computers running 17" Monitors. Some of these (1 or 2) have a flicker on the monitor when in use. While it's annoying it's still possible to use the monitor. I have asked an electrician and he said there was nothing wrong with the power in the building it must be a monitor problem. I have checked with the supplier of the monitors and he said it must be an electrical supply problem. Recently I have purchased two new computers, for two new workstations. These new computers have 15" flat screens. At the moment these are unusable because of the flicker. Can anybody help me please. There doesn't appear to be any connection between the monitors that exhibit this problem. Live Long and Prosper

You might wanna check your refresh rate.
Goto your desktop and right click. Choose properties.
Then choose the tab properties and click on the button advanced. On this screen you'll find a tab named adapter where you can set the refresh rate. Set it as high as possible.

If this doesn't work then try to set your monitor to a lower resolution. Try 1024x768. This is a good resolution for 17". Use 800x600 for a 15" monitor.

Have you installed the correct display drivers for your video card? It might be possible that windows is using standard VGA drivers. This will certainly cause flickering.
If so then install the drivers.

You can also try to install drivers for your monitor. Some monitor brands depend on their own drivers and cannot work correctly with windows monitor drivers.

Good luck.
