My monitor is acting funny. Whenever I leave the monitor on a *bright* (mostly white) screen or background for a short or long period of time, the monitor will make an elctrostatic type sound when the window displaying the bright background or screen is minimized. I tried disconnecting all the monitor's cables for a least a half an four and then reconnecting them. That did not help any. I then adjusted the display settings such as the Contrast and Brightness, still no luck. Next I re-installed the graphics drivers which did not help either. The next thing I did was adjust the monitor's refresh rate from the factory default of '75 Hz' to 'Optimal', guess what? That didn't work either. The last thing I did was re-installed Windows 98 SE, that also did not fix the problem. What could be the problem? Is my monitor damaged or dying?? I would appreciate any respose to the post. Thanks.

Nope I extremely doubt that. In fact, I've fixed the problem by using an air compressed spray can and blew the dust out of the inside of the monitor. That seemed to have fixed the problem.
