For months now my monitor hasn't been turning on with the computer if it's left off to long. If you turn the computer off and fire it back up within 30 minutes, the monitor comes on as it's starting to go through the bios like it's suppose to. If it's any longer than that, the monitor doesn't come on and I have to turn the computer back off and try again which ends up taking at least 10 trys before it finally comes on and of course there's errors from there because it didn't finish loading on it's previous attempt. I hooked up my monitor to another computer and it fired up fine so I know now it's not my monitor. Any suggestions on what could be causing this? I've looked around everywhere and I can't find anything on reasons as to what's causing this and how to fix it. My computer runs non stop now because it's such a pain in the butt to get the monitor turned on. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

it's probably your transformer. just plug your monitor electric-kabel in a plug instead of the computer.

First of all, don't restart the PC if the monitor doesn't come up. Turn on the computer normally, wait a few seconds then switch off the power on the front of the monitor for a few seconds, then switch it back on. To me it almost sounds like the monitor isn't properly detecting the video signal on the cable then the monitor goes into sleep mode after 30 minutes. I have an AcerView monitor that does the same thing. But in my case, I don't have to wait 30 min. If I reboot the PC, the monitor doesn't come up unless I switch the power off then back on.

axslinger - I have tried turning my monitor switch on and off numerous times when trying to get it to come on before turning the computer off and on again. It has never made a difference.
I had this monitor for well over a year when it started doing this the beginning of the summer and there was never a problem with it before that. When it firast started doing this it would only take one or two tries to get it up running with the computer. It has greatly increased over time. Any other suggestions?

Snglbnny,
We need to determine whether or not the monitor is A) Powering up, but not displaying video or B) Simply not powering up. If 'A' is the case, you will at least have a power light come on. It might be flashing at you. But thats's good. We know the monitor is actually powering up. In that case I would swap out the video card.
If 'B' is the case, you can try a different 110v outlet or different power cord. Also, be sure the power cord is firmly seated in the back of the monitor. They can sometimes be a tight fit and when you think its all the was in, it really isn't. If you are sure it is getting AC the only thing you can do is have the monitor repaired (difficult to do, not many shops repair monitors) or replace the monitor.
