monitor new files on a directory

I found that the size of a dirctory is increasing day by day, can anybody tell me how to find out the new files written into that directory? Thanks.
 
ls -lrt will give a long listing of all files with the latest file at the end of the list

The one like to use all the time is. Although I used to use ls -rt optioin all the time when I was working on SCO Unix.


$ ls -ot

It displays listing in a descending order by date and time.
