This perhaps may be out of the scope of this forum, but i will give it a shot anyway

I have two dell flatpanel monitors, same model, and both reset to factory settings.

One has a real yellowish look to it, as it it never gets as bright as it shouold....what could be causing this, and is there an easy fix? it is out of warranty, and a huge hassell to return.

Seems to me i read about this somewhere, bottom line was that monitor needed professional repair and this sounds the same.

First off, we should all be aware that repairing monitors is very dangerous. Same as tv's. We can unplug them from the wall but they still carry a charge. Death can occur from messing with these. This applies for sure to crt but likely applies to all monitors.
Either way, these kinds of repairs have to be left to professionals who have the skills and tools to test and repair them.
