I have a monitor (about a year old) where the screen display shrinks with a proportional black area around the edge that is about an inch around. When I use the horizontal and Vertical size controls it corrects the problem. It works for a week, sometimes longer, but then comes back. Any ideas?

Are you talking about resizing your browser? If so, why don't you try right-clicking on the title bar (blue part on top of window browser) and select size, then, just adjust it to the size you want. Let me know if your problems still persist alright.=)

It sounds as if your monitor may be going bad. Your vertical and/or horizontal circuits may be going bad. If the screen is shrinking on the left and right side, then it may be your horizontal. Sometimes these circuits are pretty easy to fix but your horizontal gets its voltage from the flyback transformer and if your fly back is going bad then you might as well buy a new monitor. If your monitor is less than a year check the warranty and get it repaired before it expires.
