Hello,

First of all...MERRY CHRISTMAS! Now, I just received a new Tower case for Christmas with a 400 Watt power supply and I installed everything and it came out great and looks great too. The only thing now is that I have this intermittent interference on my monitor that look like moire. This wasn't here with the old case and power supply (which was only 200 Watts.) Any ideas? I thought at first it might be the fans interfering now that I added 2 new fans, but I disconnected them and it still happnen. It almost seems like a burst of something.

Thanks in advance,
Wes Hayes

Make sure that the monitor cable is attached securely. Also keep your speakers away from the monitor. The magnets in them can distort the screen. What kind of interference are you talking about?

It looks like wavy lines, but they come and go. It definetly looks like some magnetic interference, but I have not chnaged anything but the power supply. Do you think this could be the problem?

The computer and monitor are plugged into a wall outlet. That outlet is likely connected to other outlets in the house (ie. they are all on the same circuit). Since your bigger PS draws more power, I'm guessing that you may be having problems with other devices plugged into that circuit. See if you have a heater, TV, stereo, etc that are also drawing power on that circuit.

Yes it is in the same place. Everything is the same except there is a new case and power supply.

Just to verify, try moving every component (speakers, case, etc) at least 4 feet from the monitor. This will help narrow down the cause of it being interference from another hardware component.

I agree with Accessdabbler. If it's not interference from another component, then it's probably an overloaded circuit in the house.
