I have a flat screen monitor that only works at a refresh rate of 60 hertz. My computer reboots at 75 hertz so whenever I restart my computer I can't see the screen on my flat screen monitor. I have to connect my old monitor reset the refresh rate and then hook up the flat screen. I hit apply everytime I reset the refresh rate to 60 hertz but it returns to 75 hertz whenever I reboot or restart my computer. Is there anyway of fixing this problem?

detailz,

To assist you in this problem much more detail is needed.

i.e. Your OS, video card mdl type driver, flat secreen make mdl, etc.

Your flat screen is an LCD? Brand and model please?

The default BIOS screen rates are usually at 70Hz. Every monitor that claims a VGA compatibility supports 70HZ and 60Hz.

If you are using Windows, does Windows identify the monitors properly?

I think Felixc is on target here. Check to see what monitor Windows thinks is installed. This is what determines what refresh rates are used. You might just want to change it to "Default Plug and Play Monitor" to see if it makes a difference. This selection usually works fine unless you're into pretty intense graphics.
