Hi, I'm running a P-800 with a Geforce2 64MB video card in it, i've had it for about two years and all of a sudden I got these dark and light lines running through my desktop and all screens as well. Even the start up Win98 screen has lines through it, they all change places depending what I open up. Anybody know what this might be from?

Play around with the refresh rate setting for the monitor. This is just one cause of black lines, but not the only possibility.

Well I haven't messed with the refresh rate before because my video card usually does it automatically so it was fine as it was..then one day it decided to pop these lil see-through grey to dark grey lines all over my screen and it has made my screen a bit darker as well, other than that no real difference. I'm thinking maybe my video card could be dying so I'm buyin a new one tomorrow to see if that'll work. Although it shouldn't die after only 2 years of use, it seems to be the only real thing i can do.

If your current video card has a fan attached to it you might want to check it while it is running and see if it is still spinning. These can slow down after a while and eventually seize. Also check the video card to ensure that it is still seated in the slot all the way. Check that the monitor cable is still snug and no other wires have crossed over it causing interference.
