Hi,
I'm having problems sending and receiving mail to a domain who's mailserver is EXIM (the EXIM server is nothing to do with me so can't do anything about the config). I know that their server is doing some sender verification and I suspect that when it does the from address is blank. That being the case I think our exchange 2003 server is denying the communication.
What I'm looking for is something that will monitor the communication in real time so that I can see exactly what's being sent and received.
SMTPDIAG doesn't give enough info and neither does logging on the Exchange Virtual SMTP Server. The failing part of the output from SMTPDiag is below.
Sent:
mail from: <admin@ourdomain.co.uk>
Received:
250 OK
Sent:
rcpt to: <admin@remotedomain.co.uk>
Received:
550-Verification failed for <admin@ourdomain.co.uk>
550-No Such User Here
550 Sender verify failed
Error: Expected "250". Server rejected the recipient address.
Failed to submit mail to remotedomain.co.uk.
Anyone any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks
R
