Monitor display keeps moving?

Hi,

Sometimes when my Windows XP PC with 17" CRT monitor returns from being "locked" (ie. it asks me to enter the password to use it again), the display has shifted about 1-2" to the right and the top 1-2" of the screen has falled off the top.

Is this a monitor problem? Or a video card problem?

Your advise would be most appreciated, because the video card is covered by a maintenance contract, but the monitor is not !!

What resolution is your monitor set at? If the resolution is set higher than the monitor can handle it will cause the screen to shift and sometimes shut off

Hi,

Its 1024 x 768 on a 17" screen.

I think that's the usual resolution, though I believe you can still use 800 x 600 if preferred.
