Monitor 3.2.54

I have a six site MPLS network with majority IP Phones (130+). I would like to run monitor tracing on three of the sites to diagnose a few issues. I've heard that it's not wise to run monitor traces continuously because of the load it can put on the network. How many monitor sessions can be run at the same time and for what period of time (recommended)?
