I wanted to set up MOM, and found that I will need SQL. Then I discovered there are several SQLs. The developers version is cheap. Will this work? Also, would I need SQL 2000 or 2002, if I need the standard one? Thanks.

First off, the developers' edition cannot be legally used for a production instance. If it is non-production, you're probably OK, but I would check with Microsoft to see if that was true. I don't know of any documentation indicating whether it would work or not.

What MOM edition are we talking about? MOM 2005 requires SQL 2000 SP3A before you can even think of installing it.
