MOM not releasing SQL Server connections

We encountered problems recently where MOM is not releasing SQL Server 2000 connections when running a replication script every 30 minutes. We removed the script and all of the SQLDMO_### conections were released. Has anyone encountered a similar problem? I would like to know if there is a fix besides removing the script.
