Hello,

Can anyone advise how to use Corel Draw to create pictures like this one?

dna.jpg

My particular difficulty is a 3D effect when DNA is wrapped around proteins (the line behind the protein should not show up). I am using Corel Graphics Suite 11.

Thanks!

To me alot of the dna strands look similar. You could remake the front side only (2D representation = no need for strand behind) of say 2 different strands. Use the radial fill to shade the strand and make it look 3Dimensional. Then copy and paste the strands resizing them to grip the protein(?)/histones. Slight rotations can also create variety.

You can always zoom in and tidy up the edges of the strands with the bezier curve editor - where they revolve around the histone so there is no overlap...i hope i have the terminology correct.
