Grabbed an MP3 Player and plugged it into the MOH port. I can hear the music(lightly), but there is a lot of static. I had to shave a little of the plastic off the plug in order for it to go into the MOH port fully.
Take the plug out of the Partner, tap my test set on the end of the plug and hear the music clear.
I am thinking bad MOH port, but just wanted to verify or find out if there might be a resolution.
Thanks.

I had another cord available and got the same result. I was thinking about bringing in a standard radio to test out thinking the MP3/Ipod might be an issue.
I would not like to trade out the unit due to a bad MOH port.

I've seen the RCA jack get abused and crack the solder joint to the board inside.

Abused yes. Just go bad no. Maybe a lightning strike where the whole thing fries.

Problem was not the port on the system, but the port on the MP3 player. Plugging the entire audio plug into the MP3 port caused the problem. I pulled the plug out a little farther from the MP3 player and the music came in crystal clear.
