I have a client with a CICS. When connecting a clean music source it sounds terrible as background music and MOH. I must have a bad port or is there something that could fix this? Thanks for any and all help.

It could as be an Impedance mismatch, like going from 8 ohms to 600 ohms

Or a connectivity issue.

If you're using a headset jack, for instance, the cords commonly made for those (1/8" stereo type) are usually string inside, with copper painted on. Replace it with a decent cord, and the trouble should clear up.

Check wiring and that tech did not splice with b connects (bed of nails) or punch down stranulated headset cord to BIX or 66.

Suggest use cross connect and solder to mini jack.

Use a proper resistor according to the specs in the manual, if you dont this can cause the port to do this or blow completely.

Or use an impedance matching transformer.
