We had at one time the music on hold feature working (its audio from a radio station) but now it is not. Can someone point me to where I should look first?
First make sure you still have input from the radio at whatever COT you have programmed for the music route. Make sure you have a COT in EACH networkgroup you have in your switch.
example
TKTP MUS
ROUT 49
DES MUSIC
TN 072 0 14 00 MBER 1 MUSIC
TN 020 1 11 02 MBER 2 MUSIC
TN 040 0 14 00 MBER 3 MUSIC
TN 180 1 14 06 MBER 6 MUSIC
make sure the trunk group has music and the music route programmed
OPD YES
NATL YES
MUS YES
MRT 49
MR NO
That should pretty much cover it.

Prt out the music route in ld 21 and find out the ACOD. Dial the ACOD from a set with UNR in the class of service.
you should get music.
or take a butt set and connect to the COT TN on the frame to see if music is being output.
thanks for all the help. Just a loose wire. But since we are on the subject, only external calls that are put on hold here audio. Is there a way allow internal calls put on hold to hear audio too?
yes, in the cdb, ld 15 chg ftr, then enter yes at mus and then the route.. btw, it's against fed regs to re-broadcast a radio station, or copywrited music without a letter from the actual owner.. a law firm in dallas sued about a dozen major customers for using a radio station as mus, the radio station made a bundle... we use miran music, before that we paid for muzak...gets crazy when the ties get involved
