Im having an issue getting the Music on hold working on an Ip Office partner edition I just installed. It is an OHP 8000 connected to the audio port on the back of the system. I have the music on hold set to active in manager. It is such a simple thing that I honestly don't where to begin in troubleshooting it. System status shows an alarm that the music on hold file failed to load. This is odd to me because the way the alarm is worded it seems like it is trying to use an internal music file but the partner edition ip office only supports external music on hold. I have tried swapping out the OHP just incase it was the unit itself but it is not. Any thoughts?

MOH is active by default and it is through the audio port in back of the control unit. My lab unit shows no such error in SSA as you see and I have nothing plugged into the jack.

The error you see certainly looks like one from IPO and not Partner edition. You could run sysmon with tftp turned on to see if it tries to load a file from the drive.

You could try to default the unit and reload the cfg.

You could issue the shutdown command and power cycle the unit.

The file it is trying to locate is named "holdmusic" lower case only, and the file has to be WAV format. If you can't get the external to work, you can try that. The maximum file time is 90 seconds, then it repeats.

It is amazing the stuff Avaya "forgets" to do in their software on this contraption for the Partner mode! Or do in general to the USA PBX and PHONE SYSTEM STANDARDS! If it is suppose to replace the ACS, it is doing a very poor job! And the IPO mode is not much different...

I didn't think the partner edition IPO supported internal MOH? But Ill certainly give it a try. Thanks

And yeah it is amazing. This partner edition is a piece of junk, been nothing but a headache.

The IP Office forum will ridicule you into oblivion if you post Partner IPO questions. Better that you post those things here, where folks actually use and appreciate it.

Run sysmon and set to all default.

Use Manager to shut down the system.

Unplug and replug the system

Once the system is operational you should see traces like these>>>
