Heyyyy What's up there !!!

I got a bcm450 R6, and i'm slowly programing it according to my 3.7 one beside the other one.
Programming is very fine and easy, however the transfert of the Modules look abit more complicated.

I installed it only once on my 3.7 i had to set NODES or something like this, and adjust dip switchs, i totaly don't remember!

Now on the bcm R6 the approach is different, i see MBM 1 2 3 4 so i suppose it's slot 1 2 3 4, after i set slot one is a ASM8+ slot 2 and 3 are 4x16. But the bcm stuck on Enabling... so i suppose i did not do it properly or i miss something, i set all dip switchs to ON like they said in Mike's PBX CookBook.

So i'm stuck there !

Thanks,
Mike

Install a phone onto the module that is trying to enable, once it see's a set it will enable.

okay okay sorry i'm just stupid... I tought from top of the bcm it was bay 1 2 3 4 but it's 4 3 2 1.. so mdules was set in the wrong bay.. at the moment i set it right the 4x16 get enable right away !

But not the ASM8+ i heared a frimware too old can be a problem..

Problem FIXED !

So the 450 R6 have the same bug as the 450 R1.

To enable the module and force frimware update you need to remove it HOT and reinsert it fast HOT (While BCM is power on) Even if they said on the sticker to never do this, it worked instantly.

According to my search the ASM8+ allow an upgrade frimware only when blinking fast in bootup it tooks... 20 sec ?! after powerup.... it has no sence.. i don't know any BCM who boot that fast, so the only option is HOT SWAP !

I confirm it work and no damage where happened.

Thanks !

Interesting problem as I had the same issue a few years ago on a BCM 400 using a ASM 8 module. This isn't just a BCM 450 quirk as it's across the whole range although the BCM 50 expansion module might be different. A star from me.
