I am trying to build a user in modular messaging, I complete all of the required fields, when ever I hit the "save" key I get the message that the mailbox extension is already being used by another user. How can I find what subscriber is using that extension. I've tried all the normal steps, transposed numbers etc, but cannot find the subscriber extension to correct the phone extension to add the new user...HELP!!!!

Sounds like a secondary extension must be assigned to another mailbox...

If you're running an MSS backend and you can get ASA to properly connect to it (port 389 BaseDN:eek:u=people,dc=Avaya), then you can do a "Find a Replace" on the Second Extension field and enter the number you're trying to add. It will then search and find the primary extension that the secondary extension is assigned to. You can also use Mailbox Manager if you can figure out how to interface it into your MSS.

Once identified, either remove it using the HTTP:// access, Mailbox Manager, or you can use Find & Replace in ASA to remove it.

Lastly you could manually go through each mailbox, but this isn't generally a logical option.

Thanks,
