Modular Messaging how much storage needed?

Not sure what you mean. If you are getting the MSS version then it is already on the server. If you are going with an exchange backend then it is on the Exchange server

Well you really do not get a choice. The MSS standard and the MSS high availability are what you can chose from. I do not have the spec in frount of me but if you have more than 500 users you need the high availability one.
