I am trying to add a new subscriber which has in the past been used. What seems to have happened is that this number was at some point in the past also used as a secondary extn somewhere and was not removed from this posiion.
My question is, how do I now locate the extn to which it is currently assigned as a secondary extn in order to allow me to remove it so I can readminister the extn as a mailbox?

When trying to add the mailbox I get - Error:pbx extension matches a subscriber's secondary extension (1524) - returned.

I hope that makes sense.

one way to do this if you are not using MBM or if it an exchange back end is to look at the fedb using the fedb tool it should let you search for the secondary ext number in the text file

Well it looks like i was wrong on the FEDB i just looked at ours and i swear that you could see the secondary ext in the fedb but i can not see them. So the only way i know of is to use MBM or what you may want to try is calling the number and see who's mailbox answers.

Thanks very much for the advice Ken. Routing the number to voicemail then caling it, worked a treat. A colleague of mine had advised me that he'd already tried that...but obviously not!
Thanks again.

The secondary extensions are contained in the FEDB but in a different table. depending on the version of MM you can either look it up through Access or through SQL queries.
