We are considering setting database security by dropping reporting views during ETL and backup hours so that MSI users do not impact these processes. If a query runs against these views while the views are down, they will get an error similar to "VIEWDB.VIEW does not exist". Can we modify this specific message so that it is more meaningfull to a non-technical business partner (Ex: please resubmit request during SLA hours.)? We are using MSI 7.2.4 and users will access via the Web.

Thanks in advance for any help on this,
Sam

Sure. The Error is likely handled by error.asp page (or report.asp). And normally the error are displayed from XML without modification. You simply need to add an if statement to check to see if this error is returned, then display something you made up, else do the usual thing.
