I've recently started exploring sharepoint portal server, and wss. Now i want to modify the default page with frontpage 2002 SP2 which gives following error: "This Web Part Page has been modified since you opened it. You must open the page again."

I just want to change the quick launch menu, maybe put in some ordinary html... but how can i do this without getting the error? the page displays ok, but i can't modify the webparts anymore.

thx for the help

Hmmm... I've seen that when I've edited the page via the Browser and forgot to close FrontPage, but that's with FP2003. Until I upgraded to 2003, I had a lot of quirky (techie term) issues with FP2002 and SPS 2003 (given you're running 2003).

When you say QuickLaunch, do you mean the SPSWC:CategoryNavigationWebPart component? That left navigation structure? To my knowledge, it's not "editable" because it's one of SPS's .dll calls that pulls in your Area structure. I've modified that area by just adding text links that look similar underneath it.

As far as the web parts not being editable anymore... where are they not editable, FrontPage or in the browser?

I'm using SPS 2003 with frontpage 2002, when i just type "test" in the body of the default.aspx page, the webparts and the layout aren't editable anymore...
