I hope someone can help me with this problem. How easy/difficult is it to modify a sent outbox message. my friend is facing disciplinary proceedings by his company over an internal e-mail which he sent, and he swears that the content has been changed in his outbox dir, and in the recieved inbox dir of the person he sent his mail to. Could an average user be able to modify the mail content and what are the the core events required to do so.

Thanks in anticipation,

it is pretty easy, i think you have to get a trace on where the email has been.

With administrators around, it is pretty easy to find out. just check with them. [sig][/sig]

I recieved this message from warthog, but it did not answer the core question, the steps required for a user to change
e-mail content, so it can look like the original e-mail with the same time stamp. This is a simple security issue and if it is easy to do, anyone with a grudge can put a colleague in trouble.
Hope someone out there has the answers.
