I am working on a project that may need to have certain "text" members modified in the future. Is there a way that I can create an external cast library, and change/modify/update cast members in the future? The movie will be sent to 500+ people, and I would like to just be able to modify one cast member, rather than the entire show.

Thanks for the help!

You can link to external casts, just put the members that might change into an external cast, that way you will only need to send the new cast. To create an external cast just select the external option when you create a cast.

I did that - but as I changed the cast members, the movie wasn't updated. I thought that it was that simple, I just can't get it to work! Any other suggestions? Thanks Horrid for your response...

Odd....

Ok, solution 2, Use code to link to external files

eg member("mypic").filename = the moviepath & "/mypic.jpg"

then send new media files, this is just a tad more messy.

I don't know why the first system isn't working. Thats how I do all my projects.

you could also have the text really be an external HTML file thus making it fairly easy to change.

just use:

importFileInto member(what member #), "file.html"
