Modifying Backup Jobs

I am trying to modify a backup job and remove the backing up of some files that no longer exist on the server. I go through the normal procedure and select modify job, drill down to server where files are located, uncheck all the files no longer needing to be backed up and save. If I close out and come back in, files are once again checked and backups still try to access these files. Lot of errors in job summary because of this. Any ideas?

The SAVE option is used to save your job template or script. Instead of closing the backup manager, re-submit the job by clicking RUN. Then your changes will stick. Alternatively, you can DELETE the job and reload the script which now has the correct file selection, but why bother?
