modifying a table 1

I want to add a column to an existing table. I've looked high and low and have not seen anything mentioning the modification of a table that already exists. Is it even possible?

if the query you run for alter table show nothing results, means what the query is succesfully executed. John Fill

try using
ALTER TABLE tablename ADD columname datatype

this is just to add a column, u need a different line to alter an existing column
