Hello All,

Is the command MODIFY REPORTS distributable or it one of those restricted commands? [sig]
Pete
blindpete@mail.com

What your mother told you is true! You will go blind! (from moonshine anyway)[/sig]

You can use it BUT you loss the menu options. What I have done to compensate is I created a saved report menu for modifying reports. I have a preset routine I call that defines a window, calls the menu , calls a screen form and then calls the modify report command with a parameter passed to it with the report form name. Thanks David,

But it is still not working for me. It works fine on my machine or any other with VFP but not w/o VFP. If install VFP on amachine and then unistall it. The EXE with MODIFY REPORTS works. I m clearly missing some crucial element here. Perhaps it is something I am not including in my install set?

Any thoughts as to why?

Sorry it took me so long to reply... been working round the clock for 2 weeks, and brain is no longer functioning on many levels. I do not have the book that I use that gives me a list of files that should be included in the directory you build the exe in here at work. I know there is a set of class files (.vc*) from the VFP directory that must be copied there along with several others. I have not had to build a new stand alone exe for this company for a while now. I just keep changing the old one. Maybe someone else will post the files needed today. If not I'll try to remember to bring the book in tomorrow. Try including all the Wiz*.v* files in the \......\vfp6\wizard\ directory and see what happens.

Thanks again David but no luck there, I also tried the _report.vcx w/o success.

I was hoping Vlad or Robert would have piped in by now too. It seems that the three of you have collectively already done everything VFP can do. (grin)

I also searched MSDN's knowledge base w/o success.

Thanks for trying!

Hi, Pete!

I have no exact answer. However, you said that after installaing/removing VFP it works. Think - what the difference after that? Correct. VFP installation registered couple of ActiveX control. In addition, it registered run-time libraries. Try to do the same on clear machine. Copy Run-time libraries and REGISTER them. If it will not help, than continue to install ActiveX controls and files from VFP installation until you will find correct one.
I have no other ideas... [sig]
Vlad Grynchyshyn
vgryn@softserve.lviv.ua
[/sig]

Hi Petey,

Is the command MODIFY REPORTS distributable or it one of those restricted commands?

Yes, it is usable at runtime. The report menu is available if you do not SET SYSMENU OFF.

But it is still not working for me.

What exactly does it do? Does it generate an error? If so, what error?

As Vlad mentioned, if the Install/Uninstall VFP method alleviated the problem, you probably omitted something during setup.

Check out the following KB article for exactly what files are installed with VFP:
