I am currently using CR8.5 and using CR Designer to make a query. I am using that query in CR in the rpt to make the report. In the query I added a condition in the 'where' clause in the SQL and it worked fine in Oracle SQL. When I added the line in the query, it looks like the report does not access the query. It is still running the one w/o the extra condition. Do you have to 're-link' or something like that so that the rpt picks up the new query.
Query has the same name, only an additional condition.

Hate to think I have to re-create the report everytime I make a minor change in a query.
Any help will be appreciated!

You can try the following:

Database > Verify Database

This should bring you resutls from your updated query.

Thanks! I did the verify on the database and it came back and said 'Database is up to date'. Then Report-> Refresh Report Data and re-ran the report. It looks like it picked up the new query. I guess everytime you make a change in a query that any report uses, you ALWAYS have to do a Verify on the Database for it to pick up the modified query. Just a note to definitely keep somewhere!!

Thanks again for the help!!

Well, I tried it again and it didn't work! Shucks!
The rpt is still going against the un-modified query.
I even tried to Database->Set Location, click on the new query and then Set Cmd. No avail...

There has to be a way to do this..
Anybody doing CR against an Oracle d/b using querys???

I appreciate any HELP!!

Ron

Try renaming the query, and when you save it, make sure to NOT save the query with data. Then, do a Set Location to the new .qry file. I just ran a test using 8.5 and SQL Server 2000, and the above is what worked for me.
