Unfortunately tonight I have had an attack of forgetfulness. Please pardon my terminology, I will try to clearly explain what I mean.

When in a command prompt, one can use commands such as 'notepad' and 'taskmgr' because the executable files are located in the system32 folder. However some programs also offer this 'shorthand' for running the exe, such as 'textpad'. There is no textpad.exe in the system32 folder, just in the Program Files directory where it was installed.

Can I make any application that I want do this?

For example, I may want Firefox to load with 'ff' or 'fire'.

Thank you!

Nevermind... brain clicked in.

I have already found the app paths in the registry, but as I was trying my changes, I forgot to use 'start' and just typed in the executable name... 'firefox' instead of 'start firefox'

All good now, sorry!
