Can I modify and existing instance through crystal management console such as add an email address or change a parameter? I think there are some 3rd party tools to asist with them but they appear to be quite costly.

Thanks

No, you can't modify an existing instance that has already run. Instances are snapshots of what happened at a specific point in time. You can modify the scheduling information for a report so that it will do/show what you want. Since schedule reports that haven't been run look like instances, is this what you're trying to do?

A computer only does what you actually told it to do - not what you thought you told it to do.

Yes, I am sorry. I need to change a parameter of a scheduled report.

Since you say "crystal management console", I assume you're on some version of CE and not BO XI. I'm not that familiar with CE as we moved from Seagate Info 7.5 directly to BO XI.

However, BO XI is supposed to be similar to CE 10. To do this sort of thing, I pull up the report object in InfoView (you can't get to the scheduling info for a previously scheduled object in the CMC) and click on History. On the "instance" that's marked as "Recurring", click on the "Reschedule" link and modify what needs to be changed, and then click on "Schedule".

yes, version 10. XI must have the reschedule link, but I don't seem to see it in X. I don't suppose it is in a weird place I may have over looked?

Your other option is to delete the old schedule and create a new one.

APOS has a freebie for CE X:

ePortfolio Reschedule button *Crystal Enterprise 8.5/9/10
This freeware provides modified History.csp and Schedule.csp pages that allow an end user to reschedule a report right from the History page using the same parameter values that were used when the report was originally scheduled. Simply backup and replace your current Schedule.csp and History.csp pages and try it out!

ePortfolio Reschedule button & Events Schedule page *Crystal Enterprise 9/10
This freeware provides modified History.csp and Schedule.csp pages that incorporate the above 'history rescheduling' capability and also allows an end user to schedule reports based on an event - as an alternative to using the Crystal Management Console for scheduling with events
