Modem - Win 2K disconnect issue

I have two computer out in the field. They are set to dial out to the net upon boot for ftp purposes. Howeer, there is a difference between them. One will hold hte connection all day and have no problems. The other seems to want to disconnect after five minutes or so, whether the FTP is finished or not. As it is they are supposed to transmit data every seven minutes 24/7/365. I have both programmed on the modem properties to redial if disconnected but this isn't happening on them. Any suggestions? Also when I hae the two of them in the lab this was the same issue despite checking all the usual suspects.

So it happens on multiple lines? That means it is likely an issue with a modem on the one machine having the problem. Do they both have the same modem? Have you tried replacing the modem driver or the modem itself?

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.
