Modem Speaker Volume

How to turn off modem volume when you connect to the internet on 2000 Professional? I did on control panel->modems->properties->speaker volume-> off, it didn't work. Thanks!

Try going into your dialer directly and turn off the volume there, the dialer settings often times override the modem properties. Hope that helps.
