modem recognition

having problem nt4 workstation recognizing a 3com internal<br>
modem. <br>

using the wizard, i get to what port to use and nothing happens.<br>

Make sure that you have set the internal comport in NT. If the comport is not available (the com port that windows requires to talk to the modem) then windows NT will not even recognize it's there. Go to Settings, controlpanel, ports, and add a comport for the one the modem is speciying (by memory address and interrupt). Once Windows NT reboots the comport should be available and the mode should then be automatically recognized.
